The face fabric utilised is the highly advanced PERTEX® Shield +, representing a fusion of advanced fabric technologies; providing the bag with exceptional breathability (25,000 MVTR) and equipping the Minimus with unprecedented waterproofing capabilities (20,000mm hydrostatic head). Generating the thermal qualities that set the Minimus apart an exceptionally high quality goose down at 800+ fill power provides the bulk insulation.

Such quality allows the down to loft to a near unmatched level, which effectively allows the insulation to trap more air, thus locking in greater heat to create effective thermal regulation. Working alongside the insulation a PEAQ Down liner offers the highest levels of comfort next to the skin, whilst also boasting fast dying and high breathability; an ideal component for outdoor travel. Ensuring that the elements stay securely locked out, every aspect of the Minimus has been carefully designed to create a fully waterproof environment. Alongside the PERTEX® Shield + technology, the Minumus features fully taped seams and baffles throughout to deliver a complete watertight seal. To ensure complete comfort and effective heat regulation the Minimus features an anatomical design and a profusion of specially thought out aspects.

The body shape features an anatomically designed cut that tapers around the lower legs and contours around the shoulders, creating a comfortable, secure and snug fit for the wearer. Leaving no stone unturned the baffle construction across the chest has been engineered to ensure the down lofts to it's greatest potential, balancing lightweight, compressibility and thermal regulation through use of an offset vertical trapezoidal design. The incorporation of horizontal baffles at the lower legs and feet allows for movement within the bag. The footbox is another element that has been focused upon through the design of the Minimus, the flipper shape is tapered from the knees down to the ankles, with the specific function of facilitating in the reduction of cold spots and to accommodate for an upright foot position. The upper bag benefits from years of MONTANE® construction experience to afford a high quality piece of technical fabric engineering and construction, with particular regard to the award-winning technical mountaineering jacket hood design.

Intelligent design has benefited from the creation of a specialist Hood shaping to prevent down migration and to limit cold spots. Split, colour coded face drawcords allow for controlling and adjusting the volume individually around upper and lower face, each drawcord is easily accessed from inside the sleeping bag. Completing the anatomical aspects and meticulous design the baffle has been specifically crafted to contour and hug the complete circumference of the neck, the incorporation of draw cords within the baffles themselves allows for ease of adjustment and draws insulation closer to the neck.
